Most people don't realize that proper sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health and well being. Lack of sleep can contribute to obesity, depression, physical inactivity.The National Sleep Foundation reports that most adults need seven to nine hours a sleep a night to feel fully rested. In today's hectic world with all the stress, most people have the attitude well you only live once so they party every weekend.
Well its true you only live once, but the quality of life you have in your future depends on what you do each and ever day. You body does all its repair work at night when you are a sleep and when you throw it off its regular sleeping pattern it reacts in a bad way.
As you get older you may have noticed that if you go to bed late on night it will throw your next couple of days out of whack. Here are some simple steps you can take, avoid eating heavy meals, caffeine, alcohol a couple hours before bed time . Make your bed room like a tomb, block out all outside light. Keep it cool and add some white noise, you can achieve both by installing a window ac unit.
Make sure you have a good bed and pillows so you are comfortable. Use your bed only for sleep and sex, do not watch TV in your bed unless its for sex LOL. This will get you in the mind set that the bed is the place to sleep.
