Overtraining

Believe it or not you can over train your body, and you may not even know you have until the situation is serious. The first sign of over training is you will see that hard earned muscle you worked for start to disappear unless you were supplementing with glutamine and a high protein diet.

The second and most serious symptoms of over training are subtle and can take months to develop, this i know from personal experience.

When you over train here are some of the symptoms.

Physiological reactions - irritability, anger, depression

Impaired Performance - decreased performance and strength, delayed recovery

Sleep Disturbances - getting to much sleep or to little sleep

Decreased Immune Function - susceptibility to colds flu and infections

If not caught in time over training can lead to some serous health problems, so the best approach is to create a workout plan that offers some rest time from the gym. Alter you routine at least every couple months, if you are working out six days a week change to four. Switch from a higher rep routine to a lower rep one to relieve some of the stress on your body.
