If you want to loose or gain weight, it all comes down to how many calories you consume. To loose just a pound of weight a week you need to burn 3,500 more calories than you take in, that's 500 calories less a day. But how many calories due you burn every day ?
This basic Calorie Calculator will give you a good idea.
1. Multiply your current weight in pounds by 10. This is your basic metabolic rate ( BMR ) the number of calories your body burns to stay alive.
2. To get the number of calories you need to fuel your physical activity, multiply your BMR by :
0.2 if you hardly exercise.
0.3 if you do light exercise.
0.4 if you do moderate exercise
0.5 if you are very active in sports
Then add your BMR and your physical activity calories together, and multiply the total by 0.1 to get the number of calories you burn just digesting and absorbing nutrients from your food.
Total the three numbers together to approximate how many calories you should eat each day to maintain your weight.
Summary
If you want to loose weight take in less calories.
If you want to gain weight take in more calories.
Remember always include good protein,carbs,and fats to you diet. Try to eat at least 5 to 6 meals a day spacing them out no longer than 3 hours apart.
